Fanta that weighs in at only 70 lbs. Primarily
intended for youngsters sailing on protected waters, grown-ups can find
plenty of excitement sailing this fast little craft as well. According
to the original text, “…Tiny Bear can be built in two or three
days with no special tools. The cost of materials, including sails and
all, should run no more than $20 or $25.” Of course, that estimate was
in 1939 dollars. But even at ten times that much today, Tiny Bear would be a great investment as a father-son project or a winter project for a scout troop, sailing club, or shop class. Maybe it’s time to turn off the TV and turn on to boat-building.
